Plouf 2014 – Swimathon

Lions Club Yvelines Heraldic (LCYH) is now staging its swimathon.

Plouf 2014

Where: Le Pecq swimming pool

When: Tuesday 11 November 2014

This is a fun, family event organised to raise funds for the association Autisme-en-Yvelines.

Autisme-en-Yvelines will use the funds to equip a classroom in a school to accommodate the needs of autistic children.

Plouf 2014 is a friendly relay event, where teams of six or eight swimmers take turns to swim 25m lengths of the pool.

Each team is sponsored by relatives, friends and colleagues of each of the swimmers – who are responsible for finding a few sponsors for their team.

The sponsors can choose whether to sponsor the team with an amount per length swum during 55 minutes or to donate a fixed amount in the name of the team.

If spending 55 minutes in a pool with your friends – and at the same time helping those less fortunate than yourself – appeals to you, why not enter a team? It really is simple: just register a team by clicking here

Everything that you need to know is explained on the Plouf page.

Team captains receive a special Plouf T-shirt for their efforts and all swimmers receive a goodie bag that will help to replenish those calories burned during your swim.

Prizes are awarded to the team with the greatest number of lengths, the most money earned, and the youngest and oldest swimmer are also recognised.

Donations may be sent to support the event using the Donations page.

You can also join an existing team by e-mailing LCYH  where you will receive by return email an introduction and a sponsorship form.

All are welcome to drop by the pool on the 11 November to join in the fun and perhaps drop of a donation for this very worthy charitable event.
