“We were delighted on Sunday to host Hugues Ribault, Mayor of Andrésy and Michel Marque, responsible for Youth and Sports for the Mairie of Andrésy, together with Jean-Christophe Urich and Marie-Sophe Cazès, from the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, for the closing ceremony of the Défi St Bernard.
A cheque for 18,000 €uros was given to the Mécénat in the presence of the cyclists from the Triathlon Club of Andrésy and from our own Lions Club Yvelines Heraldic.
Our sincere thanks to all of those who made this cycle marathon possible, including our sponsors (Vivendi, Ford, LIDL, Douze Avril and many others), and our colleagues in the Lions Clubs in three countries who provided us with food, overnight accommodation and a warm welcome at all stages of our route from Andrésy to Aoste, passing over – and back again – the Grand Col St Bernard!
It was a very human endeavour for a very human cause; we are extremely proud to have completed this project and to help save the lives of children who otherwise simply would live.”
A day of interviews and Nadia managed it well. Plenty of seriousness spoken about with a little light training for the start of the Defi St Bernard tomorrow. Thankfully for everyone there was a lot of fun as well.
